Hydraulic equipment for weir gates in Kain.
The weir gates project in Kain near Tournai was realised in cooperation with our sister company Vandezande.
This project consists of the supply and installation of 4 hydraulic cylinders with a stroke of 5,000 mm and a bore of 250 mm, 2 drive units with a tank capacity of 450 litres and the pipework going with that.
The replacement of the old weir, dating from 1920, allows the water level of the river Scheldt to be better maintained for the benefit of the shipping traffic.
Vandezande supplies and installs another three hydropower screws within this project for the generation of the electricity required for an energy-neutral funtioning of the lock.
